First and foremost, Vivienne, Yenyen to her friends, is a party girl who has been working as a bodyguard to fund her hedonistic lifestyle. That is, of course, until she finally got bored.
She was born and raised a member of the Warrington clan, a well-known military family in Caerola. They have been in the military for as far as history can remember. They have grown generation after generation of skilled soldiers and military personnel. And, now and then, they produce someone whom the public considers a hero.
But how are heroes made? The Warringtons in themselves are riddled with internal politics on who gets the family backing and who doesn't. The easiest answer is that the current main family is usually given the bulk of the support. The reward of being dubbed the "Main Family" being purely based on who has had the most resounding accolades as of late. Unfortunately, such honor does not currently grace Vivienne's immediate family.
Vivienne spent her childhood and youth training to be a soldier. After ending formal training, she found that her family name had left her too much to live up to. Instead of applying to the military, she decided to capitalize on her last name and apply for high-paying, quick security jobs instead.
But there is something in the Warrington blood that yearns for danger. While being a bodyguard can be bloody in its own right, perhaps Vivienne had built herself a life too peaceful. In response, quite impulsively, she decided to join the Ember Charter. Rumor has it that no one has ever come back alive from retracing the First Expedition's path. Surely, the frontier has something exciting in store.
