It has no permanent payrolled faculty or physical location (or else it would've been found and shut down by now).

Instead, it's an app built-into encrypted phones, which operate on their own private network and which have been distributed through Halycron's criminal underworld to aspiring teen supervillains.

The app functions like Compass, Khan Academy, and LinkedIn — but for crime!
It has lesson plans (e.g. How To Rob A Bank), assignments to score "points" to climb up the school rankings (e.g. Rob This Specific Bank), social networking features to arrange meet-ups and find criminal conspirators, and hiring boards to take jobs from local gangs and henching for supervillains.

No one knows who created the app. Nor who is updating it, maintaining the encrypted network, nor distributing the phones. All users are anonymous (unless caught in the act).

As far as we can deduce, [VOID] Academy was "founded" around 5 years ago.
Every year since it was founded, it has sabotaged the Phoenix and Eclipse Academy proms with an elaborate (and dangerous) prank.
