The Federated Alliance of United Friendly Planets is like an intergalactic United Nations comprised of non-expansionist planets throughout the 51 galaxies of the Local Group, including the Milky Way and thus Earth.

To become a member of the F.A.U.F.P, a planet must be at least a Type 1 Civilization on the Kardashev scale and cannot have colonized any other planets.

Beyond mutual aid and defense pacts, their purpose is to allow every planet to be itself and evolve without outside interference from other planets — until they're technologically and sociologically advanced enough to join the intergalactic community.
