Ashlette comes from a fleet based alien society. They go around the galaxy creating stars and converting planets into ship factories with their powers and engineering knowledge. Ash was a daughter in a long line of leaders of a section of the fleet, and was being raised to take the torch. But she didn't want to, she was a thrill seeker and couldn't stand that kind of life. After a big argument with her parents she fled to earth to get away from the expectations. And even though she can decide her own fate on earth, she has new struggles of adjusting to earth customs and not having her parents position to provide a cushy high life.
