Nebuchadnezzar was an orphan raised in a temple of many faiths in Baldur's Gate. Showing an early aptitude for fighting, he joined the Church of Tyr when he was of age and eventually rose to the rank of Justiciar. His career was primarily focused on hunting down anyone who invoked Tyr's name without living up to Tyr's standards. While this was necessary work, constantly pursuing and judging people wore on his faith in the world.

A year ago, he reached the age of 50 and qualified for retirement from the Justiciars. He took his belongings and ventured out into the world in search of opportunities for heroism or courageous heroes who could restore his faith in the fundamental goodness of the world.
