All his life, Hapless (the nickname overtook his birth name long ago) has had the strangest luck--sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always strange.

Despite being born an heir of House Orien and inheriting sorcerous power from his bloodline, the tendency for weird, unlikely events to occur around him has rendered Hapless largely unemployable. He started as a courier, and he's worked every odd job under the sun at one point or other.

These days, Hapless is trying to find an income by hiring himself out as a professional adventurer in the hopes of one day discovering the source of his bizarre curse.
