Valroid, ever since he was reanimated he could remember everything but nothing and for some reason, his name was lost to him as well when he dug himself out of his grave, all he found was a parchment paper note, stained with dirt and rain as if waiting for him to wake up, all it had on it was "You're Valroid now, do not waste your second chance." -Tazen.
Tazen, a name unknown but known, he didn't understand why he couldn't remember the name, but it felt, memorable to him, his death was a blank, but it's as if the pain of it stuck around, not knowing what to do or where to go, he stepped out of his grave and looked around, there wasn't even a cemetery anymore, if there was, it was overtaken by nature.
Vines, Flowers, Trees, Moss, and the scent of a river nearby, Valroid didn't realize he could still feel, see, smell until he dug out of that grave, but it confused him more. He was already somewhat puzzled from the note, but him still having his senses confused him further.
He wandered aimlessly around the woods, minutes into hours, hours into days, and eventually he lost how long he spent roaming around without a sense of direction to go to.
Eventually, he stumbled upon an adventurer, severely wounded and alone, Valroid tries to walk towards him, but the adventurer wouldn't let him get close, think him as just another undead ready to finish the job, so he swing his blade in untrained and panicked swings, before getting slower and slower and eventually going limp, he had used the last of his strength against something that didn't even attack him, and died because of it, Valroid watched this with confusion, had he really changed that much?
Valroid looted the adventurer for all of his gear dawning what he is wearing to this day even, because it allowed him to gain a semblance of functionality to things that are unfamiliar yet familiar to him.
With a slightly torn map and lackluster cartography skills he used his broken knowledge to follow it to a city to gain traction as a merchant whose cities name eludes him, no matter how many times he's told by the locals, he usually sells skins and meats that he hunts himself.
He uses the gold he gets for his gear, to maintain it and to get ammo for his musket that he looted off of that adventurer, but people looked at him... differently to say the very least, you don't see a living skeleton without thinking it's a mindless slave to kill, but this one has a mind of it's own, so he is treated differently by most of the people, but there are a few who treat him good, mainly the people he helps, he was eventually told about the Dawnspire guild and Lilith's Divot, a good place to set up his shop to aid others by selling hides from animals for warmth during the winter and food on the go, but people there are bolder and not afraid to show how much they don't like him around, they tear down his stall many times during the night that he has to fix in the morning, frankly he got extremely annoyed by this, but despite that he kept selling to those who needed it, he didn't need to stop no matter how many times his stall was busted down.
Eventually he got the authorities involved about it and there was a guard that was stationed nearby, swapping out when needed for 24/7 observation, because of that the attacks stopped and he went back to selling just fine, until the rent at his inn started raising, he couldn't pay it off with just one day of selling his stock to people, so he took up the Dawnspire Guild for an adventurers license.
This is where Valroids story fully begins.
