In the frozen peaks of the Skytalon Mountains, where the wind howls like the voices of the ancients, the Goliath tribes tell the legend of their ancestor—the Stone Titan, Karthuum. It is said that Karthuum’s heart was carved from the mountains themselves, and his body stood like an unbreakable pillar between the sky and the earth. His strength was eternal, his will unshaken. His descendants, the Goliaths, inherited his endurance and his duty—to protect the balance of the land.
Reet Rowld was raised on these tales, but unlike his peers, he felt an unusual connection to the legend. Since birth, strange markings resembling roots and stone veins ran across his body, glowing faintly in the moonlight. The elders whispered that he bore the mark of Karthuum himself, a sign that the ancestor’s power still pulsed through their bloodline.
As a young warrior, Reet proved himself in battle, serving as a frontline protector in the great wars between the mountain clans and the raiders from the lowlands. One day when he touched their bark, he felt them breathe. When he stood among their roots, he felt them speak. And one night, during a rare and violent storm, he had a vision:
Karthuum stood before him, but he was not alone. His stone heart pulsed with the energy of the World Tree, its roots intertwining with his unyielding form. The Titan spoke with a voice like grinding stone: "You are both earth and root, Reet Rowld. Stone does not move, but trees do. If you only stand still, you will crumble. If you only bend, you will break. Seek the balance, and you will find my strength."
When Reet awoke, his veins burned with newfound power. He could feel the pulse of the land beneath him, the whispers of the trees calling him forward. He left the warfront and set out into the world, no longer just a soldier but a guardian of the balance between stone and root. He wields a mighty greataxe, its blade reforged from the remains of an ancient petrified tree, symbolizing his dual heritage. Wherever he walks, the earth itself seems to acknowledge him, and the echoes of Karthuum’s will guide his every step.
