Date of Expedition: August 30
Party Members: Valdenheim Wolfhart (Priest of Ulric), Grandi (Dwarf Soldier), Lars (Bounty Hunter)
Major Discoveries: A Dwarven tomb west of the Hergig road, its dead stirring under a curse. Corruption cleansed and the dead laid to rest at the behest of a Dwarven spectre. Uru Falke was exposed as a traitor and bound to the tomb as its custodian.
Casualties: None among the party. Uru Falke, absorbed.
Returning from a bounty out of Hergig, the party was met on the road by one Uru Falke, who carried a Dwarven rune upon him and spoke of a cursed cave where the dead would not lie still. Five had gone in. Only he had come out. A curse that stirs the dead does not stay in one cave. We went. Goblins barred the road a half-day on — six of them, three night goblins slinging spears, demanding silver for passage. Lars put one down before a word of haggling was finished. Grandi and I took the nearest, and then a second. The rest broke and ran, and a troll came out of the trees and did our work for us with a tree trunk. We killed it after. There is little to say about it. The cave proved a Dwarven tomb. A spectre of that hold set us our task: cleanse the corruption, lay the dead to rest. We went down through the barrows and put down what walked, ending with armoured guards of the hold at the tomb's foot. While Grandi and I were engaged with them, Falke put a knife toward Lars' back. He had led us there for his own purpose from the first. He was netted and taken. The tomb has kept him — he serves as its custodian now, and will for as long as it wants him. Each of us claimed a reward from the tomb. We know little of what we carried out, and less of what we left behind. The dead of that hold are quiet. That is what we went for. — Valdenheim Wolfhart, Priest of Ulric
