Appearance:
Standing at 5'11'', Silberhan is a Half-Drow around his early thirties. His skin looks dry in texture, sickened with pale indigo growing out of his grey complexion. Stretches of nerve-like veins creep lightly across his skin at times, appearing as slight silhouettes until close inspection. As well, he has magenta eyes and still whited out hair growing far past his shoulders. Usually shaven, he has been able to grow some stubble across his face from time to time. His ears, too, are on the shorter side yet have distinct, angled points. His right-ear is heavily scarred over, with a deep line cutting from the ear down into the side of his face nearby.
Public Character Knowledge:
Silberhan used to do work on excavations and mining operations before his turn to dhampirism. He is publicly a dhampir, someone that has been known to go out at night for long periods of time on various hijinks to fulfill his hunger. He is usually seen trying to either amass more knowledge on the Mist or trying to find new ways to combat it, making it his main 'job' in his unemployed lifestyle.
Silberhan was the result of his human mother and drow father's relationship. His mother was a tenured mining operations industrialist, running work that required additionally security near areas known to be under assault by various Mist inhabitants. His father was a drow that, after some labor shortages from a regional conflict, was enslaved by his 'peers'. His father eventually managed to escape slavery after a particularly horrible attack by Mist creatures, eventually escaping down into one of the quarries Silberhan's mother was operating. The two ended up meeting after a few days, hit it off, and eventually got married in a small community. Silberhan's father completely rejected much of his heritage, joining Silberhan's mother in her community, where the two of them continued running mining operations down there. A few years later, Silberhan was born.
From his early childhood to his adulthood, Silberhan was raised as just an off-looking human. Granted, being a half-elf led him to develop feelings of alienation from much of his community. He was barred from any communication with drow populations, with his father afraid that there would be retribution off for his escape years prior. His mother enrolled him in some communal education, focusing on a lot of practical knowledge surrounding the mining work he would later be rolled into. By his adulthood, Silberhan was working under his mother's mining corporation, taking on a few local groups for different excavation sites. He eventually got reins to start independent operations under his own label, acting as a subsidiary for his mother's now localized work.
A few years passed and everything was going smoothly, until there was a disastrous assault on one of the excavation sites. Silberhan led a team out down into a site parked right outside of Mist-ridden territory, something that he did because it was considered a 'good deal' by a contractor for the operation. What ended up happening was an elder brain's colony was located down in the site and the colony was accidentally blown open with a few mining explosives. Apparently the colony itself had been eating itself alive for the past few decades, with an introduction of vampirism used by the colony to keep the elder brain sustained. After the explosive came off, a swarm of vampiric**** illithids came running out, ravaging Silberhan's crew. It was disastrous, with Silberhan himself barely surviving the ordeal and being infected with one of the mind flayer's vampiric tadpoles. During the infection process, the illithid went berserker and ran off to rip apart one of Silberhan's coworkers, leaving him to deal with a tadpole entering his right-ear. Taking a pick that he tried to defend himself with, he slashed his ear open with it and slew the tadpole in the midst of its infection process. Disrupting the event, Silberhan crawled off into a debris pit to lay low.
After some time, the illithids retreated back to their colony and took anyone they could with them. The latent tadpole in Silberhan's head managed to inject its vampiric blood into the half-drow's head, turning him into a psychic-energy addict of a dhampir. Silberhan's initial dhampirism, combined with the rapid introduction of aberrant power, allowed him to crawl out of the pit and escape back outside of the construction zone. Fearing shame from his family at getting several innocent people murdered combined with his dhampiric infection, forcing him to drain psychic energy from living organisms, Silberhan went on the run. He penned out a letter to his family briefly, before making his way out to settle independently in Underhaven.
Deciding to forego a pseudonym after a few months into his infection, initially going by 'Luthneach' for the time being, he has now settled into a more public role. Living in isolation to understand his dhampiric condition, he tries to maintain distant communication with his family where he can. Gripped with the shame and an infallible hatred for the Mist in all its forms, Silberhan has dedicated his existence to the complete annihilation of the Mist in any incarnation. Viewing himself as a byproduct of the Mist's wrath, he feels immense guilt for his existence, using it as means to burn away the Mist's harm from the world. As a result, he has since waged a self-righteous crusade against the Mist, working on any way to combat it that he can. He has also taken up a larger ego over time, radicalized further over time to fight the Mist's influence in Underhaven. Still, to sustain himself, he still feeds on psychic energy, though he has grown sickened and physically debilitated at times from his aversion to indulging his hunger.
From then on out, Silberhan has maintained a radical personality focused on combatting the Mist and portraying himself as the means to do so. He has worked on eccentrics, trying to master as many inherent magics that he can to show off to others. He also has taken some license into theatrics, often wearing clothing to make himself seem regal despite his crippling economic condition. He continues to put an emphasis into developing a presence in the Underhaven community, trying to magnify his presence now whenever he can for the sake of attacking the Mist.
