Following the events of Rags to Riches, the party continues their efforts against Eldric Valemont by helping his former accountant, Edmund Hawthorne, who possesses crucial information about Valemont's crimes. With Edmund's assistance, the trial against Eldric proceeds, exposing the extent of his exploitation and corruption. Eldric is ultimately found guilty, but rather than accept his fate, he manages to escape before he can be taken into custody. The party joins forces with the City Watch to track him down, eventually locating him inside a warehouse. With the authorities closing in and nowhere left to run, the party corners Eldric, bringing the long-running conflict with the corrupt merchant to its final confrontation.
