Background
Frank was born on a remote seafarer’s island where the sea is both the source of life and the graveyard of those who underestimate it. From childhood, strange signs marked him as different: his silver-gold eyes seemed to catch the light of the sun even beneath storm clouds, and the island elders whispered that celestial blood ran through his veins.
He was raised among sailors, fishermen, and weathered shipwrights, learning early that survival depended as much on loyalty and courage as it did on strength. Rather than becoming a priest in a grand temple, Frank served the island’s small shrine, tending to sailors before voyages and blessing those who never returned. His faith grew from witnessing the sea’s terrible power, and he came to believe that the divine was not found in safety, but in the courage to face the unknown. When a violent storm nearly destroyed his home, Frank experienced a vision in which a distant light appeared beyond the waves, calling him toward lands he had never seen. Since that night, he has felt an almost irresistible pull toward the horizon, convinced that his purpose lies somewhere beyond the familiar waters of his island. Now, with his belongings packed and his old life behind him, Frank seeks a ship and a crew willing to take him into the wider world. He does not know what awaits him across the sea, but he hopes that adventure will reveal why he was given celestial blood and what his gods truly expect of him. For Frank, every voyage is both a pilgrimage and a test: he will sail wherever fate carries him, protect those who travel beside him, and never turn away from a storm merely because it frightens him.
Appearance
Frank is a tall, lean human-looking aasimar with weathered features that reveal a life spent beneath harsh sun, salt wind, and rain. His pale silver-blond hair falls loosely around his face, contrasting with his slightly tanned and scarred skin. His eyes possess an unnatural amber-gold glow that becomes brighter when he calls upon divine power.
He wears dark, battered clerical robes beneath practical leather and light chainmail, with a salt-stained cloak that has seen countless storms. A collection of small holy symbols, sailor's charms, and pieces of driftwood hang from chains around his neck. His most treasured possession is an old prayer book given to him by the island's previous priest, its pages warped by seawater and covered with handwritten notes. Although he carries a mace and shield like a traditional cleric, both have been deliberately made practical for life aboard a ship. When his celestial nature emerges, faint golden light shines beneath his skin and a ghostly radiance surrounds him like sunlight breaking through storm clouds.
He rarely looks immaculate, preferring the appearance of a sailor who is prepared to work rather than a priest who expects others to serve him. Despite his grim appearance, there is something unmistakably reassuring about Frank's presence, like the feeling of seeing a lighthouse through a violent night.
