During the age of the Humans of Grjotgardr driving out the Elves there was a family who made a deal with an Efreeti lord of the Plane of Fire to "curse" their child so that he maybe be sparred of Humanity's wrath. This was Heredur and to escape the curse that befell the Elves he was taken to the Plane of Fire, where he matured, to him, for an unknown length of time. He served, and learned under said Efreeti Lord and became squire to his son, Phoenix. When Phoenix escaped the clutches of his father's grasp he followed him as his loyal squire. With him having joined the Iron Seal his hatred towards the Humans now may be channeled for higher purpose and thus their goals align.
