War. Pestilence. Rebellion. All these, adventure, ill fortune, and the Great Games themselves have cost many lives and bring about ever more hardships. Food becomes scarce, water becomes polluted with disease and blood, and lives become broken. For all this, it is important to relish the little moments of joy we find in the fleetingness of mortal life. But so often, that joy, is left unguarded.

As the year draws to a close, Guard Captain Lorelei Withers of the Bazagonian Guard gathers volunteers from the rest of the guard force and those adventurers of good report to once more put aside their own health, time, and safety for the good of those less fortunate. Throughout the last month of the year, this Joyguard, as she calls it, will rally together to provide food and shelter for the poor, protection for those who cannot afford it, and public games and spectacles for those who need just a little joy.

For the month of December, I will be running small Play by Post events in a dedicated discussion thread on the Esper server. Every few days a new event will be posted and the previous one will end. Anyone interested in helping the Joyguard can hop into the event and join in on the fun! Just make sure your character is in Bazagon.

Participating in the Joyguard costs a DA. Once you've spent the DA to help though, you can participate in all of the events for the entire week. Think of it like buying a ticket to an amusement park: a ticket lets you in, and then you can decide which rides you go on.
