TL/DR: Mushroom Bug reads to many books and became a domestic terrorist
Delilah was literally made to be the smartest person in the room. From creation she was quick to learn magic and its intricate details and bend them to her will. So when she finally realized and understood what she was, what her people were, an army and she a true general. For one of the few times in her life she felt a true pang of emotion. Fear. Scared for her and her people being annihilated in a war they didn’t even ask to be in. Sorrow. She had no way to stop her master. She was skilled but her master was borderline unstoppable. …Anger. She wouldn’t let anyone be hurt as long as she could cast even a basic attack spell. So the used her smarts to develop a plan. Everyday in training she would throw spells and such to show the recruits how to do them. Every. Single. One. Thrown at the magic barrier surrounding the castle and keeping them all in. Every. Single. One. A chip at it. A crack started to form and eventually she knew she could make a hole. A temporary one but big enough to slip through. She had grown close to another Shroomite, Aragon, who was the nighttime patrol guard of her branch of the castle. On top of this she has spoken to her apprentice mage Corellia and told her of her plan to escape and Corellia though seeming trepidations agreed to come. When the time came and Aragon gave her and Corellia an opening to break for the magical bubble. It was a blur. Running. Cold night air. A flash of magic. Hers? No. Corellia? Aragon was on the ground, blank look in his eyes, a hole on his chest. Blood across the ground. Corellia’s staff was raised towards her and Aragon laid dead between them. A sacrifice. Another flash, this time her own and the bubble shattered as Corellia flinched thinking her end had come. It hadn’t. She stood watching as the bubble sealed, Delilah in the other side. Anger boiling in her, sadness quelling it likewise but through it all, disappoint in her prodigy.
Delilah had been wandering the earth for roughly 87 years before things truly went wrong. She understood early humans found her appearance to be uncomfortable and thus tended to hide her identity with magic but with recent developments like the Lore League becoming more prevalent she knew she would need some higher help to move forward with her attempts at finding the tome she was looking for. She thought as a well learned and powerful mage that the best place to start would be to affiliate herself with the current mages guild and use their resources to further her goals. What she didn’t consider was that a mages guild would have a magic dispelling gate that would remove her illusionary disguise. She also didn’t consider that when such a thing happened it may cause a panic. As the disguise fell all she heard was a cry from nearby. “Monster! MONSTER! It tried to sneak its way in!” She had battled many a monster and figured she could assist the mortals with handling such a task until suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her side and looked down to see a blade protruding from her hip. She looked up to see a scared looking human man thrusting the blade and realized he must be what the others were seeing and somehow assumed his disguise once more to fool her. She raised her staff at him and glanced at the civilians gathered around him that began to press towards her and commanded them “Quickly, step back while I dispatch this foul cretin.” But the crowed just pressed forward and the man raise his blade again so she did what she had to. She protected herself knowing the civilians would retreat once they saw her power and the monster that attacked her undone. But as she prepared to fire she miscalculated the blast. She wasn’t used to fighting around others and when the blast cleared the foolish mortals who had rushed to her aid had sadly fallen in the battle. She moved to give her sentiments and praise that at least they had died a hero’s death fighting a monster but she felt her body stiffen and everything go black, that last words she heard, a spell being uttered into the air as she fell. She awoke in what she soon learned was a mobile metal monstrosity of a prison called “The Clank” that was seemingly being used to house her and other powerful individuals for the time being. She had resigned being there and just waiting it out until the prison rusted and fell in the next few hundred years. To her surprise though many of the other prisoners look a liking to her. Through her deadpan nature and seemingly 0 need to lie she tended to be left alone or spoken to casually by many of the other inmates. But in her experience no good thing lasts and when the prison fell she took her chance. One of the other prisoners freed her and she used what little magic she had been able to store from the scarce moments she could see the sun and created a new staff from some of the scraps of the crumbling prison and with a small group of other prisoners she slipped out in the chaos and watched as the place was restored to order with her securely on the outside. Free again. A spell made my a archmage couldn’t hold her? Did they truly think some man made hunk of junk would do it?
Delilah is a ant like huminoid with a brown mushroom cap on her head and small speckled mushrooms growing across her body. Her skin, (or the closest thing to it) is brown and she is skinny and lanky.
