Ulthak grew up in the mountains in a small village. He quickly grew to prominence among his town due to his exceptional hardiness, which was a marvel even amongst the giants. Thus, earning him the name "Stoneskin". The village elders saw in him a wanderlust, and gave him their blessing to travel and adventure. Before they did however, they gave him a key that was only known to the elders and had been passed down for generations. They knew not where it came from, but said it was foretold it would help one of their people in a time of need. That is why they are entrusting it to Ulthak, that he may find the lock that fits the key on his adventures. The key is his most prized possession.
