Allen A. Allen, Esquire is beside himself. I mean, the name kind of gives it away there, and his massive frame makes it almost possible in reality, but his real issue is that he's being robbed! Him! A loyal servant of the court system and and yet his precious things are being taken, and nobody has been able to catch the miscreant behind it!
Every new moon somebody has has broken into one of his houses and ransacked the place. Taking a mix of valuable things and trivial items, and then leaving without a trace. Guards, dogs, guard dogs, and dog guards have not been able to stop this being, and his patience has reached its end.
The new moon is in three days, and the only property he owns that has not been broken into is an old manor house on the far end of town. He fears the worst is in store for this old family dwelling and appeals to the Lore League for a group of smart, capable adventurers to put a stop to this periodic perfidious pilferage! (If they're not available, he'll take what he can get.)
He offers you the rare opportunity to live in one of his fine houses for three days, drinking his wine and eating his food, and growing cultured from seeing (but not touching) his art collection and vast library of books. It's not just a job, it's self-improvement with payment! All he asks is that you apprehend this awful avaricious apparition and abort its aggravating assignment!
