We're an inclusive gaming community playing Cosmere RPG using a modified "West Marches" style system every Tuesday night starting at 6 PM (Eastern)
We have our own Discord server where we discuss all things Lore League, so join us there for more information.
We meet every Tuesday at 6 PM at Gigabites Cafe, located at 1851 Roswell Road, Marietta, GA, 30062
We have multiple tables reserved for our use, ensuring sufficient space for those interested. However, we encourage everyone to sign up for a session in advance to secure a spot at one of our tables. Signups have reserved seating until 6:15; after that, any remaining seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you don't wish to sign up in advance, please arrive early.
We currently have no online sessions planned, but GMs are welcome, and encouraged, to offer online sessions using the platform of their choice. The one stipulation here is that Tuesday evenings will remain reserved for in-person play at your local game shop Gigabites Cafe and Lore League will not support offering any online games that could interfere with the current in-person schedule.
This Westmarches community specifically supports The Cosmere RPG. In addition to creating your character entry on this site, we encourage you to create a character on Demiplane, or even join our Demiplane group.
We will be approaching Leveling and advancement not via exp or milestone. Instead, we will be expanding Cosmere RPG's Goal system to include advancement in order to further encourage active roleplay.
Each talent you gain will require you to set and achieve a "goal". Once sufficient talents have been accrued to reach the next level, you will get the other benefits of gaining that level (like +5 hp, etc.). This is intended to encourage active roleplay and discourage tables from getting too large (ideally 3-5 players(max 6 when necessary) to 1 GM) as tables with more players will, by definition, advance more slowly.
GMs should award themselves three "exp" to build and/or advance their character(s) with for session they run. GMs don't need to use all of these exp on the same character. This mechanic is intended to encourage people to rotate in and out as GMs, as these are "free" talents that you don't HAVE to roleplay in order to bring a new character up to speed with the rest of the group... but, consequently, these are advancements that you don't GET to roleplay.
We're embracing a "table-driven narrative" style, while using published campaign materials as a base for our adventures. As such, don't be surprised if your GM asks you to name that random merchant you just met, or describe what you might have found in the chest you opened! Be reasonable, though. :)
While we will, by the nature of the system and setting, be referencing certain larger cannon events from the Cosmere books in-game, players and GMs are not expected to know or adhere to any smaller scale points of the cannon in any given scene excepting where they wish to do so. These games are about telling YOUR stories in the worlds of The Cosmere!
What are the West Marches? We're glad you asked!
Essentially, a "West Marches" campaign is a community-driven, collaborative storytelling mechanic for RPG games with multiple GMs and tables. While not "strictly" West Marches style, we intend our games to be self-contained sessions if not exactly one-shots, allowing players to join a table on any given week and be able to meaningfully contribute to the story.
