Downtime
Each part of the season (beginning, height, end), you have two Downtime Actions shared between your characters. You have the option to spend 2 Shard to gain a third Downtime Action. Each action must be different.
- Pursue: Work towards resolving your character arc and take spark if you had none.
- Endeavor: You take action to work on one of many personal goals. Each endeavor is tracked by a pool. Roll the task pool each time you take this downtime action to get closer to that goal. Ask a GM about other projects you may have.
- Obtain Arcana Piece (4d): Minor Arcana needs 1 piece, Major Arcana needs 2, Mythic Arcana needs 3 and a quest to complete it. Craft a scroll of an encountered theorem as minor arcana to learn it. When you combine arcana pieces into an item, pay the Shard cost listed on the Arcana page.
- Alter Arcana (6d): Change an arcana or theorem touchstone.
- Retrain wise (4d): Replace a known wise with a new one.
- Retrain a talent (6d): Replace a talent with a new one.
- Retrain a core talent (8d): Switch paths. This can only be done once per character.
- Contribute: You work towards making the community project a reality by adding +2 contribution.
- Rest: You spend time caring for your wounds, mental and physical. Roll a condition pool.
- Plan: You prepare for your next adventure, giving you Special Story. Decide on the general preparation you make, but save the details for later. You must spend 1 Shard to take this action, unless you or the guild has unlocked the type through a community project.
- Favor: A friendly faction gives a favor that comes up how the player (comes up in play how the player wishes, like a flashback).
- Research: Learn new information about a person, place, etc.
- Elixir: Create a trivial potion or other expendable arcana for the session.
- Mount: Personal craft or mount (such as a cutter) usable during next game.
- Other: Any other reasonable action approved by a GM.
- Work: You work a trade or do odd jobs, gaining +1 Shard.
Marketplace
Characters earn Shard by participating in games and with some Downtime Actions. These can be spent in the marketplace for personal property, such as a homestead, or on community projects that help the guild as a whole. Shard can be spent on a character after they participate in their first game. Seasonal benefits apply when a new season begins.
- Events rotate in and out of the marketplace. If an event doesn’t get enough contribution before it leaves, the progress is saved for the next time it shows up.
