Paarva is a young adventurer seeking riches, in stories and loot to build herself a name and legend to share with her family.
She was raised among a small den of Felidaena on the the southern tip of Garthram where they hunted local game and traded with the Yathra Silthamens to make their way as they had done for hundreds of years. She frequented the fishing villages as a kitten to share stories with the fishwives, enamored by their tall tales of pirates, great serpents and the deep. From their boys, she learned to barter and steal, as well as to fight opponents larger than herself.
Ever in her own world, it took Paarva till adulthood to see that this world was broken would not soon be made whole, and that dark times remained ahead. When she was young, she was told that the war was ending, that the gods would soon be dead and gone and would leave Felidiros and all Catfolk alone. It seems to her, that one godly war has become many mortal wars. News came from every angle of devastation growing, crops failing and plague spreading, like Emaxus was ridding herself of a nasty cold.
After her first litter, she felt a nagging wanderlust remembering her mother's stories of the great deserts of their homeland, of the battle with the man-god and the conflict that shook the world, and despite the size of her personality and ego, she felt small. Some sailors had said that to the south, there was a land untouched by this blight, and so she was resolved to make a place for herself there. She made her way to the great city of Yathra Silthame, and began scheming a way on to a vessel headed for some place called Ariminium, seeing as she had little in the way of coin or favor.
In a dim and smokey tavern near port, she connected with a fellow named Peckard, First Mate of the Deviate Delight, and after a few rounds and laughs, earned his trust and her way aboard. He was light on details of their expedition, but soon it became clear by the hastily painted over names, that they were trafficking a hijacked vessel to more friendly waters to unload her cargo and find a buyer for a cutting edge ship-of-the-line. How a motley crew of 20 salty dogs came into this beautiful ship, and now added a tawny cat to the mix, sounds like the beginning of a joke, but they set off the following morning bound due south. The trip was fraught with danger, having to fight off three separate boarding attempts and a storm while sorely undercrewed, but Paarva proved herself a good fighter and seamen, and soon enough she disembarked on to foreign shores.
She joined the Guild of Exploration to get herself a bed, and now seeks to suck the marrow of these godly bones for all they're worth. Soon, her family can join her in wealth and fame, but until then she will use what skills she has to uncover what was lost, and find the key to peace.
