Artemis Ignatius II is the "child" of Artemis Ignatius: the genius roboticist who built himself a powersuit to fight crime as the superhero TEKTOK** and then became a self-made billionaire by founding TEKTON TECHNOLOGIES; which specialized in selling downgraded commercial version of Tekton's crimefighting equipment to the police, military, and private security.
Artemis Ignatius II's existence was only revealed to the public after the "death" of his father.
"Death" in that Artemis Ignatius I's physical body was killed in a final battle with his archnemesis, The Luddite (who also perished in the battle), but he was able to backup his mind and upload it into his powersuit: allowing him to live on as a machine-consciousness. But because of the legal gray-area of robot rights (is a copy of the person's mind legally the same entity as the original person? can robots inherit property?), Artemis Ignatius II inherited all of their father's assets upon their "death" — including becoming CEO and controlling shareholder of TEKTON TECHNOLOGIES — even though it was in name-only, with his now robot father still controlling his company from behind-the-scenes.
Artemis Ignatius II disappeared from public view during The Utopia Crisis; wherein the robot superhero-turned-supervillain The Utilitarian took control of Halycon City for 2 months — transforming it into the perfect Utopian City without crime, waste, pollution, traffic...or disobedience — until they were "defeated" by the superhero The Philosopher, who somehow talked them into abandoning the city and seemingly leaving the planet?
In the aftermath of The Utopia Crisis, Artemis was quietly replaced as CEO of TEKTON TECHNOLOGIES: the official statement being that they were injured during the crisis and needed time to recover, but online rumours speculate that it's because Artemis and TEKTON TECHNOLOGIES were somehow involved in creating The Utopia?
They've only recently returned into public view, 2 years since The Utopia Crisis, as a student of Eclipse Academy.
