Strange noises echo beneath the cobbled streets of the Lower Quarter; scratching, skittering… and worse, the sound of wood splintering from below.

Several merchants report their food stores have been ravaged overnight, with claw marks far too large to belong to ordinary vermin.

A trapper sent into the sewers has not returned.

Locals whisper that these are no common rats… that something in the depths has made them bolder… hungrier. The city gard is offering coin for anyone willing to descend into the underways, cull the infestation, and discover what’s driving the creatures upward.
