Backstory
"Thul'kaar vesh nax'ul... krr'vath ul zheh. Kha'rren?"
Nymira Stellaris Aetherwind never knew the people who brought her into the world.
She was found as a young Hexblood child abandoned deep within an ancient forest, surrounded by strange charms and traces of old fey magic. To most people, she was a cursed child—one whose existence promised only misfortune.
Only one family looked beyond the rumors.
House Asterveil, a respected noble family, chose to adopt her as their own daughter. They gave her a name, a home, and a life she never believed she deserved. Although many questioned their decision, her adoptive parents never once treated her differently. To them, family was built through love, not blood.
Years later, the family welcomed another unusual child—a daughter born as a Plasmoid. The nobility's whispers grew louder. House Asterveil now had two daughters whom society viewed as unworthy of noble status.
Outside the estate, they were mocked.
Inside, they were simply sisters.
Nymira often spent her days buried in libraries, studying ancient magic, forgotten civilizations, and occult lore, while her younger sister filled their home with music and laughter. Whenever the world reminded them they were different, they reminded each other that being different was never something to be ashamed of.
But prejudice has a price.
The noble houses slowly turned against House Asterveil. Invitations disappeared. Allies abandoned them. Trade agreements quietly ended. Everything their parents had built began to collapse under the weight of noble pride.
Believing they had become the cause of their parents' suffering, Nymira and her younger sister made a painful choice. Under the cover of night, they left behind their titles, wealth, and homeland, sailing to the distant continent of Tonala in hopes of giving their parents a chance to rebuild.
It was the last time they saw them.
Months later, a devastating plague claimed the lives of both of their parents.
Nymira carried that regret with her every day.
Unable to accept how fragile life could be, she devoted herself entirely to research, searching for forgotten knowledge that might prevent future tragedies. During her studies, she uncovered traces of an ancient cosmic intelligence known only as The Celestial Archive.
Unlike many warlocks, Nymira did not seek power.
She sought answers.
The Archive accepted her curiosity and forged a pact with her, granting eldritch power in exchange for preserving forgotten truths and recovering knowledge lost to history.
Now she wanders Tonala as both a scholar and a warlock. She has no interest in reclaiming noble titles or earning society's approval.
The world abandoned her once.
She has no intention of asking for its acceptance again.
Nymira refuses to acknowledge humans or most other sentient beings. She will not speak Common under any circumstances, communicating only in Abyssal and Deep Speech. She despises nearly every race she encounters, seeing them as selfish and judgmental. The only person she treats with kindness is her younger sister—the last individual she considers family. Anyone else is met with cold indifference or open hostility.
