Stella is an orphan from a human village who was taken in by a couple consisting of a skykin monk and a former human soldier who raised her as their own. One day when she was 10 a dictator took over their city and forced them into hard labor for years before a group of freedom fighters formed and overthrew him. Stella (15 now) joined and became known as the infamous scout known only by her codename Starling. She released secret plans that foiled his plans and turned the tide of the war. She became known as a hero, who unfortunately faded into obscurity after they won.
