Rune is a short halfing about 3 feet tall, with bushy brown curly hair usually hidden under his distinctive giant patchwork hat which is almost as big as he is. He has large brown eyes and wears large round glasses over his very freckled face. Usually nestled on his hat somewhere, his is fire chameleon familiar, Archimedes, who is more intelligent than most realize. His hat is also his backpack and contains various things he has gathered in his journey. He wears travel worn brown boots and pants, a linen shirt and brown vest under his gambeson armor, with a long coat over everything (well long for him). Hidden in one of his sleeves is a short wooden wand, and belted under his coat is a small dagger.

Rune has wandered the world since as long as he knows. His family were nomads and when he was of age he wandered out on his own. He has always been incredibly brilliant and has a gift for remembering everything he has seen or experienced. He learned the ways of magic in his initial travels, picking up hints and clues here and there putting them together himself. His style of wizardry does not conform to any known order of wizards but has bits and pieces of all and his own unique techniques.

He is a very nice and kind halfling, very affable and loves to help others.
