Heyho!
I am known as Nicole, she/her.
My place of residence is the small alpine nation in the middle of Europe, known for Mozart, Sissi and Sachertorte. The place of birth of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Christoph Waltz.
TTRPG wise I may only have started to roll dice for character actions back in 2012, but ever since I have tried a lot of different games. My first contact was *Shadowrun 4e*, *Middle Earth RPG*, *Warhammer Fantasy 2nd* and *Anima:Beyond Fantasy*, before I finally discovered that TTRP does not always has to be heavy on math and rules.
Thanks to various g+ communities and a few local RPG players I had the chance to test about 90 different system ranging from minimalistic rules to rules heavy, from classic fantasy to SciFi, games based on franchises - Star Trek, Conan, Terminator - as well as generic rules without a fixed setting.
I have GMed campaigns at local tables, run open-end oneshots or within a set timeframe - meaning 2hours time limit to explain rules, pre-generated characters and play a story - and play-by-post.
L5R-wise I started some time 2013 to play *L5R 4th Edition*, and only a few months later I took over as a first time GM, being pushed into the cold water in a group of experienced L5R players. I was intimidated as hell, but I managed to run a story in the *1000 years of Darkness*, an alternate setting which had *FuLeng* win against the heroes and conquered Rokugan.
Some time after that I was in a 3years going Scorpion campaign as a player and Co-GM, presented L5R as game at conventions, ran monthly oneshots, until last year I discovered that pbp is possible through Discord.
While I did not yet run 5e, I understand the rules and setting, so I am pretty sure I can make interesting stories to add to the options provided by the team.
As some of yu may have notced, pbp is my thing. So that will also be my focus as GM. Maybe one day I will gather the courage and run a voice session, but I cannot make promises there.
Long going plots with a slower pace will be alternating with fast-paced games.
From clashing blades to duels fought with words, from finding a lost cat to searching the tanuki who emptied the sake warehouse, from decisions based on Bushido to decisions driven by Ninjo vs Giri you can expect almost anything along that line from me.
Tournaments of the arts, tests of strength of body and mind, as well as other tournaments can also be expected at some point.
My focus at first will be on smaller stuff to get a better feeling for GMing with 5e rules in pbp style, as this is a new experience for me.
I am looking forward to GMing for you people, as well as every constructive feedback will be appreciated.
