A samurai of the Phoenix clan, with flowing black hair that frames her stern features, Shiba Miharu is a model samurai who embodies her families traits and tendencies, though in an odd mirror of what most would consider the norm. An imposing woman with a cold gaze, many are quick to assume that her fire burns hotter than others of the Shiba family, but are just as quickly surprised by her dedicated pursuit of peaceful ends to conflicts. While peace should always be aspired to, in Rokugan conflict is inevitable and it falls to the Samurai to perform their duty as warriors. When blood must unfortunately be spilled, Miharu fights with a regrettably cold temper, and is unlikely to show mercy to those who would scorn her attempts at peace.
For a bloodless peace
There is no brighter blessing
Than my blade left sheathed
Born in the snowy northern regions of the Phoenix lands, and plagued by illness as a child, Miharu has always found herself cold no matter the weather or temperament of the kami. At her first tournament Miharu stole a moments peace to hopefully calm her shivers, where she was discover by her soon to be opponent, Daidoji Kisame of the Crane Clan. Showing her kindness, the older boy gifted Miharu the fur lined cloak from his back, claiming it would be a dishonour to them both for their duel to be spoiled by the cold weather. While years, distance, and duty have separated the two samurai, they have maintained a strong friendship often trading letters and poems, while Miharu wears the same cloak on her shoulders to this day.
Biting winters cold
A warmth kindled by kindness
Bonds of friendship forged
Her most recent charge as yojimbo was to Lady Asako Kumi, an aging shugenja and matriarch of her family. A position chosen by Lord Asako, the post was mostly stationary and suited Miharu well. Lady Asako had her own fiery temper at times, which was tempered well by her yojimbo's cooler pursuits at peace, and complimented by the righteous use of her blade. The two would be forced apart when lady Asako passed away in her sleep, no yojimbo can protect against old age and Miharu was sent onto her next post as duty demanded. Sent to the City of the Rich Frog to help protect Phoenix clan interests, shugenja, shrines and the peace. A duty with much more freedom than she's used to.
Serve till duty's end
