Ailan is of slightly above average height, her slight build giving her a willowy appearance. Unless circumstances dictate otherwise, Ailan prefers to wear her black hair loose, with a feather or two worked in - most likely from her avian companions. Dark brown eyes, oft half-lidded languidly look upon the world during treasured times of ease.

Ailan could never be said to be the friendliest member of her clan or her family, though this was not to mark her as curmudgeonly. She simply prefers the company of creatures great and small. She has a particular affinity for them - and they to her, though sometimes only after a fashion. Ailan keeps a select circle of people as friends and associates beyond her immediate family: some say this is so she can be reminded that she's a human, after all.

Previously attached to the great armies of the Unicorn Clan, her odd ways and seemingly unfitting build would not immediately suggest that she is a Battle Maiden. Fully capable of fighting at the charge as heavy cavalry, Ailan's secondary duty was often to tend to messenger birds: a task that saw her attached to caravans and delegations. Recent developments caused her transfer to the City of the Rich Frog.
