Her gaze is steady and unwavering though never confrontational, drifting over hands, posture, breathing. It is unsettling in a quiet way: one gains the sense that Yunmei has already noticed what they have not yet said and the intensity of her gaze could be described as uncomfortable. Some might say she has a Sixth Sense for noticing that which isn't typically seen. When she speaks, her voice is calm, soft, even and precise. Just as loud as needs to be heard and not and iota more with a breathy quality that often belies the direct, unadorned quality of her words.

Among both Dragon and Phoenix lands, Yunmei's reputation as a ritualist is second to her role as a physician: diagnosing imbalances of both spirits and flesh before they become disaster. Yunmei was raised not in the libraries of the Phoenix Clan but in mountain shrines and alchemical laboratories as her parents traveled between courts as part of a diplomatic exchange between their clan and the Dragon. As such, her expertise came not from scrolls but from kneeling in the dirt to speak to the kami, from sitting and assisting her alchemist master, Agasha Zhen, as he tended to the illnesses and imbalances of the people as his favored student.
