Torrine is a walled town in the Talemont region, on the borders of civilised lands. It is a week's journey away from the nearest city, Castor. It is the principle town of the west march.
The town of Torrine has a large central temple to Davalon, with a much smaller temple to Ferri Androthus in a much more out of the way location. Its walls keep it safe from roaming undead by night, though a conscripted watch is kept- everyone in the town must, at some point, do a watch. This generally keeps the town safe from attack, even by greater threats than an singular roaming undead.
Officially, the town is under the jurisdiction of Castor, though communication between the two is slow and dangerous, netting it some amount of independence. It is, however, still ruled by the Church of Davalon, the head of the temple also serving as the Lord of Talemont, officially referred to as the Lord Spiritual. Despite the theocratic grip on the land, they are willing to turn a blind eye to the more unscrupulous who head their way- this is, after all, an all hands on deck operation.
The Church of Davalon is located centrally in Torrine, in the ruins of an older temple, believed to be dedicated to a local hero deity who was killed in the war. The temple was reconsecrated as the Temple of Apadokaius.
The church of Ferri Androthus is a small temple in the north west of Torrine. Constructed in what was once most likely an inn with a stables, the Brotherhood of the Burning Sepulchre have had to deal with many cases of second pickings when it comes to locations in this reconquest. The Temple of the Flame Unconquered, however, remains as lively and garish as any temple to the Burning One.
