Obsessed with the stories of magic and it's casters as a young child, Scribbles spent most of his life stalking the magically gifted. He stole whatever scraps of knowledge he could find and practiced scratching their strange shapes into whatever surface he could find, starting more than one tavern tale about mysterious arcane script appearing scratched onto bed posts and table legs at night and a mysterious black cat that always seemed close at hand whenever the etching was found.

Seeking to advance his talents to the next level he sought a teacher, a wizard by the name of Morton, an eccentric to say the least, but a man uninterested in the details of his would be apprentice.

However, Morton had a horrid secret; In his damned studies he exposed himself as a Necromancer. In haste, the imperial government decided that all his apprentices shall be arrested and his notes burned.

With mounting tensions rising, the three siblings hatched a daring plan. Running away. They found a loan shark and lied, cajoled, and otherwise convinced the shark to hand over a substantial loan of 300gp, “for business interests”. When the shark came to collect, the shop that was to sell potions only had a rotting pile of fish and a few mouse skeletons.

Running away as fast as their cart could take them (and 300 GC lighter in total), The three siblings arrived at Talemont, with a new life ahead of them and a dream of staying one step ahead.
