Azura was born to a well-to-do family, but her obvious fiendish heritage made her an embarrassment to the family, who sent her away to a magic school at the first opportunity. Her exceptionally high intelligence made her one of the best students at the school, though it also led to her looking down on pupils who struggled more with their studies. She became interested in necromancy after a classmate fell victim to a ghoul, and decided to specialize in the school, due to the hatred of the undead that she developed. This event also led to her becoming a devotee of Davalon. Outside of magic, she became interested in alchemy and astrology, the first because of its seeming to combine the magical and natural worlds, and the latter because of her own heritage making her interested in other planes. One personal goal that she has that she has not shared with others is that she wants to learn the nature of her fiendish heritage -- be it devil or demon, she wants to learn exactly what sort of fiend worked its way into her ancestry.
