Jarred Dragoncloak is a man, whose fate had been shaped by dragons. The place of his birth, a village called The Blackspine, sits right at the edge of the Blighted lands, and would have been destroyed many times over by either monsters or the remains of the Triumvirate's undead hordes, if it was not for a family of Brass Dragons, which laired nearby, protecting the village from peril. The patriarch of the family, Karjinaraijirin, had settled in the region with his spouse, Terereminajir, with the express purpose of protecting anyone who would live in the area from the horrors of the Blighted Lands. The couple sired two offspring, Kharimnahajira and Irvajinzratin, and by the time the future Dragonfire adept was born, the dragons had lived in the area for over 70 years.
