Fae Niko was raised at an ancient shrine by her mother, who believed Fae was destined to inherit her role and become a sacred servant. Her unusual affinity for Spellfire was seen as a divine blessing, something that was meant to guide her toward the shrine's path.
Fae, however, never saw her magic that way. She was far more interested in understanding it. She wanted to study magical phenomena, experiment with strange materials, and discover the secrets behind her own Shifter nature. Her curiosity eventually led her away from the shrine and toward a life dedicated to research and experimentation.
Now, Fae works as an independent researcher, crafter, and experimentalist, studying magical materials, alchemy, monster components, and Spellfire. Her methods are often questionable, her experiments are occasionally explosive, but her genuine curiosity has produced surprisingly useful results.
Despite leaving her mother's path behind, Fae still carries the teachings of the shrine with her. She rarely talks about her family or why she truly left—but somewhere beneath her cheerful personality lies a complicated relationship with the mother she still hasn't quite learned how to let go of.
