A certain person who has come to the Ashen Frontier has discovered, or rediscovered, a way to make the magic in a person become... limitless. Or so he says. The scholar seems to have set it up near his "home". He is looking for people to come and find out with him what it can do and how it works. Essentially, test subjects. Adventurers willing to come and test it out.

To the Adventurers of Considerable Courage and Curiosity,

Greetings.

My name is Randal, and I am writing to you with a rather unusual proposition.

For some time now, I have been working on a magical apparatus that may, if my calculations are correct, accomplish something previously thought impossible. It may allow magic to become infinite. No exhaustion. No dwindling reserves. No waiting for the arcane to replenish.

Magic, simply continuing.

Naturally, such a thing requires testing. And that is where you come in.

I am looking for a few adventurers willing to participate in a seven-day observational study. You will be asked to spend seven consecutive days within a specially constructed pentagonal chamber containing the machine.

You will not be expected to fight monsters, retrieve artifacts, or risk your lives in some forgotten ruin.

Quite the opposite. The chamber has been prepared with everything you should require for a comfortable stay: food, clean water, sleeping quarters, books, writing materials, simple games, and various little comforts to help pass the time.

Your task will be remarkably simple. Live normally.

Eat when you are hungry. Sleep when you are tired. Read. Play games. Talk amongst yourselves. Think. Dream.

And, most importantly, record what you experience. I wish to know how prolonged exposure to an effectively infinite magical source affects the ordinary adventurer. Changes in mood, memory, dreams, appetite, perception, magical ability, personality, or anything else you find unusual should be documented. You will be provided with journals for this purpose. There is no need to be frightened. The machine has been tested extensively, and I have taken precautions to ensure your safety.

Well...

Considerable precautions.

There may be peculiarities. That is, after all, the reason for the experiment. You may notice things that seem impossible. You may feel different. You may even discover something about yourself that you did not know was there.

Should this occur, I ask only that you remain calm and write it down.

Seven days.

That is all I ask. In exchange, you will receive generous compensation, along with the distinction of being among the first people in history to experience what may very well be the next great advancement in magic. If you are interested, bring yourself, your belongings, and a willingness to participate. I will take care of the rest.

Oh, and one final request.

Please do not attempt to damage the machine.

Not because I expect you to. Simply because I would hate for anything to interrupt our little experiment. I look forward to seeing what happens.

- The game might be multiple sessions
- The game relies on the flow of the party. Things can have combat, other things might not need to
- Actions have consequences
- Take it all in, and digest it
- Rations, gear, and everything you have is important (really important)
- Stay in character
- No hand holding. You have to seek out rolls, I wont ask you to do any. It's up to you to do what you want
- Serious bodily harm, dark topics, and serious risks are possible things to encounter depending on the party
