Adventure Note

📍 Where we went:

• Stepped through a portal into a dark, gloomy wasteland: a dead field with grey-brown earth, no grass, and no visible life.
• Fought in an open area surrounded by fog, with additional enemies visible in the distance.
• Retreated back through the portal to safety.

👥 Who we met:

• Flitterstep Eidolons: Skeleton-like creatures encountered in the initial combat.
• A grotesque hulking humanoid entity: Golden eyeless mask, tattered white hood, rusted metal bowl filled with seething arms and glowing red energy, massive greatsword, brass shield, and a star-shaped charm on its gauntlet.
• Additional unseen enemies with green glowing eyes emerging from the fog.
• Party members: Dax, Henry, Kejora, Carlsberg, River, and Jerrod.
• Cervastrix (Kejora's owl scout) and JB (Jerrod's patron, who refused assistance).

⚔️ What happened:

The party arrived in a dead wasteland and was immediately surrounded by Flitterstep Eidolons. Kejora cast moonbeam, dealing massive radiant damage to multiple enemies, while River finished off eidolons using sap and frightful avatar. Carlsberg attacked in allosaurus wild shape but missed, Henry's attacks grazed, and Jerrod's eldritch blast beams both missed. Dax remained at 44/66 HP through the fight. After the eidolons fell, the area went silent, but more enemies waited in the fog ahead.

Dax cast light on his shield, used his periapt of health and Durable feat to heal back to full (66/66 HP), and coordinated with the party as Cervastrix scouted. Henry's lantern of revealing exposed a grotesque humanoid entity that addressed Henry as "my sweet boy" and claimed the party's business was "none of your business." Jerrod confronted the entity but failed a Wisdom save, suffering a headache while his patron JB refused to help. Dax attempted diplomacy, stating the party was there to help a friend, but the entity remained hostile.

As a loud scream echoed and footsteps approached from the fog, signaling an advancing army, Henry panicked and guided the party back to the portal. Dax ordered the retreat, and the group escaped safely. The DM noted that the party should gather more information and form a plan before re-entering, particularly regarding the entity's nature and Henry's patron.

(Where we went)

We went through a mysterious portal called Miregate. Passing the portal, we were teleported to the top of a building. The building looks like a part of ruined castle. A light fog surrounds the place.

(Who did the party met)

1. The party (River, Carlsberg, Dax, Kejora, Jerrod, Henry)
2. A group of abnormal undead - they appear blurry and hard to target. Some of them even knew how to teleport.

(What happened)

Subjects 1 met up with Henry at an empty inn. He seems more scared than usual, and asks for help. Subjects 1 was led to a portal in dawnport called Miregate. Once we have passed through the portal, a fight broke out between Subjects 1 and 2. Subjects 2 are slippery to kill, but they did not run, as if from confidence. After the fight, an unknown figure with a golden chalice strapped to its back appreared. The chalice seems to contain arms sticking out of the chalice - we could not make if the hands are moving or not. There are also a number of green-eyed figures - hundreds, judging by their sound approaching us from within the fog. At Henry's urge, Subjects 1 retreated to Dawnport.
