The giant, known as Raum, has come seeking assistance. Unlike previous concerns involving bandits or monsters, this matter involves one of Raum's new friends: An Owlbear.
According to Raum, a mother owlbear recently nested within the southern wilderness cave and has laid a healthy egg. While the beast is normally territorial, she has become increasingly agitated after discovering a nearby warband of goblins, hobgoblins, and bugbears scouting the area around her den.
Raum fears the raiders intend to steal the egg. Should this happen, the consequences could be disastrous. A grieving and enraged owlbear would likely rampage through the surrounding countryside, while the goblinoids could potentially raise, sell, or consume the stolen egg.
Raum has requested the aid of his friends and adventurers to defend the den and ensure the safety of both the owlbear and her offspring.
