Personality:

Although Ardent Vogwell has a remarkable talent for seeing through lies, he is a poor liar himself. He isn’t the best at telling convincing truths either, even when the truth is a threat he is willing to go through with. His hands are deft and he is skilled at using them with tools and such. Even so, he remains modest and doesn’t care to brag much. He is loyal to a fault, putting the needs of those he cares about above his own.

Backstory:

Some people are faced with poverty from the moment of their birth but others wind up in such situations due to other life events. Some are dealt bad hands and others fail to play their cards right. In Ardent’s case, he was given a fine hand and played well enough for a while. His father was a jeweler and happily trained his one and only son in the craft, starting when he was just a child. In his early twenties, Ardent got mixed up in unsavory activities. A friend of his, called Caio, made several unwise decisions that led to significant financial problems connected to a gang. Caio then made further unwise decisions that embroiled him in gang related activities even more. Ardent tried to help his friend get out of trouble but managed to get himself in a similar mess. Before long he realized he was in too deep. He made a choice to cut himself off from his family, at least until he could figure some things out. Years have passed and he’s only managed to get in more trouble. At least he has gained some skills; Hopefully joining the Adventurer’s Guild will give him opportunities to use his skills for non-criminal activities.
