Merthin's Reach was previously the location of a dungeon controlled by a bugbear named Karrg the Unbleeding. He had 60 goblins under his command and amassed an impressive treasure pile. That treasure pile attracted the attention of a powerful adventuring group that slew the dungeon's inhabitants and used the proceeds to start a settlement.

2. Merthin's party's rogue is a Halfling female named Liddy. She owns and inn and bar in Merthin's Reach named "Liddy's rest". It is a place where civilized folk adventurers can find work.
