Giant Red Termites, weighing nearly three pounds apiece, are a prized kobold delicacy known for their rich, smoky flavor often compared to sizzling bacon. Despite their size, they are docile creatures, content to burrow through rotting wood and leaf mulch without aggression. Kobolds sometimes farm them in pits filled with surface harvested wood, or the fungus Zurkhwood, raising colonies both for food and trade.

Roasted or smoked, their crisped carapaces crack open to reveal tender, savory flesh.
