🧙♂️ Game Master: Alex “The Keeper of Farpath” Larente
“There are no wrong paths — only stories waiting to be found.”
🎭 My Style as a GM
I love running games that feel like living stories — equal parts mystery, emotion, and chaos. My tables are full of cinematic moments, moral decisions, and unexpected twists and turns. I believe that a critical success or critical fail is a fantastic storytelling moment, resulting in a range of possible but believable outcomes. I lean heavily into the rule of cool and player creativity. If you want to try something cool, let's do it. I balance narrative tension with humor, and I love when sessions end with everyone laughing and a little traumatized.
Expect:
Story-driven sessions that evolve based on player choices
Rich lore and recurring characters that connect across worlds
Unpredictable twists, and moments of heartfelt roleplay
Cinematic combat that feels like a boss fight or movie scene
🪶 Backstories & Hooks I Love
I write backstories that mean something — the kind that whisper to the world itself. I want your origin to matter and I’ll weave it into the story.
Some of my favorite character hooks include:
The Lost Heir: a bloodline cursed or forgotten, whose symbols keep appearing in unlikely places.
The Broken Oath: a knight, priest, or hunter who failed once — and still carries the weight of it.
The Dreamer: someone haunted by visions that may not belong to them.
The Outcast: the monster among men, seeking belonging in a world that fears them.
If you bring a backstory that makes me go “oh, that hurts in a good way”, it will show up in the world around you.
🕰️ Campaigns & Adventures
My adventures often begin with something small — a missing villager, a strange storm, a letter from home — and unravel into something far more ancient and terrible. I love mysteries that grow into myths, and quests that challenge what your character believes.
You’ll find recurring themes like:
Forgotten gods, fractured faith, and bargains made with the wrong sorts
Haunted towns, lost artifacts, and relics that whisper
Worlds where every rumor hides a fragment of truth
Hope found in unlikely places — and heroes forged in failure
😈 Villains & Morality
My villains are rarely purely evil. They have goals, griefs, and twisted logic that make sense — until you look too closely. I love moral dilemmas where “winning” costs something real.
Expect antagonists like:
The priest who would do anything to stop the monsters.
A goddess who believes the world needs to end for it to heal.
The beloved king who would sacrifice his family to guide his people forever.
The seer who knows of a great evil coming, and must prepare heroes through acts of terror.
Every villain thinks they’re the hero — and sometimes, they almost are.
🧩 My DM Philosophy
Player agency above all. I don’t railroad; I build roads you can choose to ignore.
Collaborative worldbuilding. Your actions change the map — literally.
Embrace the chaos. Sometimes the dice have different plans. Let's go with it.
Style over stats. Roll performance if it’s cooler than persuasion.
