Ruled by King Sava Helera, Mereta is perhaps the most powerful kingdom of Lunas, and has global renown. Although they once had a reputation as a peacebroker and diplomatic superpower, over the last few centuries they have been seen more for their military power and territorial expansion. The capital of Mereta is Gaan, the original and most fortified city of the Kingdom. It is the head of the trading network that spans from the capital to Greater Mereta's capital of Vye.

History

Mereta is one of the oldest monarchies in Essepa, and has a long history of effective diplomacy with settlements across Lunas. This led to Mereta forming a close relationship with Arthroxa, the dragon of peace, when they united to end the tribal wars that were near constant across the continent. In doing so, Mereta gained great renown, as well as recognition for their military might.

With this, the monarchy managed to secure itself a host of esteemed noble families within its court. Even with its humble territories, the talent of the kingdom was evident, and it soon managed to secure trade agreements with most tribes on the continent.

Once Arthroxa was slain and their body vanished, the ruler of Mereta at the time - remembered only as the Twisted Monarch - saw opportunity. Declaring war on Vye, the Twisted Monarch believed that it would grant them the opportunity to unite other powerful tribes behind them, secure a puppet state from their target, and eventually form one Kingdom that would rule the continent. Many of the nobles were openly disgusted at this possibility, but they were quickly seized and publicly executed as allies of 'Peaces Desecration'.

Following this, The Trailing War begun. While the conflict did not go as planned, it was nontheless fruitful. By the end of it, Mereta expanded its territory significantly, and pacified all tribes that may have posed a threat. The new influence they acquired is evident of the fact they named the other Kingdoms of Lunas and marked out their territories.
