During the Proscription period in Vye's history, Esso's Stead was the sight of a failed revolution. Before action could be taken, the Mercenaries Guild learned of the revolutionaries plans and descended, eliminating the majority of them under claim the revolution would aid the proscribed people, therefore giving them the authorisation.

Since then, the City Guard have established an armed hold ontop of the hill outside the cities western walls. Often, trainees will be placed on duty here for a minimum of one month to become familiar with the equipment and districts inner workings, in case of another revolution. All the while, ballistas and catapults remain positioned as a warning of against any future ideas of resistance.
