Soma follows his own judgment instead of laws, traditions, or heroic ideals. He may help others when he chooses, but he does not believe he is obligated to solve every problem. He avoids needless cruelty and does not harm the innocent simply for pleasure or profit.

Soma wants to live freely, strengthen his body and spirit, and discover what his witchcrafted markings can truly do. He adventures because he refuses to remain in one place or allow anyone else to decide his future.
