Reggie always had a strong moral standing but knew he had to do what he had to do in order to feed himself. petty theft and odd jobs were his main source of income for a couple decades, but he found easy money and lodging was promised to any holy man willing to sit in on any local quarrels and delegate the funerals and weddings that were to go on every now and again. So naturally, he lied for the job and over time as he grew older, he learned what he needed to perform the job properly. Though his faith in community and the teachings of whatever church he stationed at that year always somehow aligned and, in that belief, he was able to gain some true healing power through his short words and stern demeanor.
