Iron, formerly known as Bobby, is a Warforged of unknown origins. Iron knows nothing of their past or creator.
Iron was found abandoned in some corner of the Underhaven for God knows how many years by an unimportant gang who took care of him and treated him as a weapon to scare and destroy. They gave him the name Bobby, a terrifying iron monster that would kill as easily as it could walk. For a while, that was all he knew.
Some years passed, and Bobby watched the Underhaven every day. They saw its people sympathizing with each other and helping each other despite all the pain they were going through. Despite the hardship of living in their precarious state, they kept fighting and supporting one another.
Bobby eventually grew tired of all the violence, all the mental turmoil. They didn't want to spread destruction. They wanted to help.
In one of their jobs for the gang, Bobby met a young human girl playing in the street who was the daughter of two devotees of the Goddess Silruna. Bobby learned about Lady Love from that young lady. Iron decided right there that they didn't want to hurt or spread more violence; they wanted to share the message of love.
And so they did. They learned about Silruna and her message in secret, and when the time was right, they escaped from the dangerous claws of the gang. To conceal their identity, they fused with a suit of armor, a process that took hours but left them unrecognizable.
From then on, they tried to help the people around them as much as possible while spreading love everywhere they could. Eventually, they felt touched by the Goddess herself in a vision while they rested, waking up with the ability to perform small miracles. He also became an andveturer to help even more people.
They were given the name Iron by Libby Merrystone, who was surprised to learn that the gentle golem that helped her move some boxes didn't have a name (having decided to forsake their name to not grab any attention from the gang).
The place of rest preferred by Iron is the workshop of Rockjaw Levou't, who doesn't feel bothered by his presence after Iron helped him with the transport of some stones. Both of them barely talk, though.
