Willow takes the form of a 5’9ft ragdoll, made from patchwork necrotic cotton. She has brown yarn hair in a side ponytail, and an embroidered face done in black threads. She wears a large puffy red dress with thin purple plaid stripes, a cream apron and a sage green shawl.
Public Character Knowledge:
Willow seemingly showed up out of nowhere, popping out of the home of a warlock scout and wandering aimlessly around Underhaven. She can often be found lingering about the orphanage.
Willow is a very typical Threadborn. She is playful and warm‑hearted with a gentle, motherly streak. She approaches the world with simple curiosity, often taking things too literally and misconstruing certain situations. Though a bit dim and easily confused, Willow is true to her nature, haboring a sincere desire to make others smile.
Willow was created in Underhaven as a modern Threadborn. A patchwork ragdoll stitched together from fallen Threadborns by a weary half‑elf scout named Jard.
Jard was a warlock of Stillheart. who had outlived everyone he ever loved. Some died naturally, others too early... a few even absorbed into Stillheart’s mass. Grief hollowed him out long before Willow existed. He built her at the request of his patron; despite Willow seeing him as a parental figure, Jard only tolerated her existence.
Willow understood little about the world she woke into, only that before opening her eyes she “heard someone crying”. Jard has no idea what she's talking about.
Left alone often, Willow wandered Underhaven’s cold dark streets, greeting everyone she met. Her misadventures included befriending a sword‑ghost who enjoyed discussing toy designs, and being shaken like a dog toy by a mist beast at the Big Top before the Beast Master intervened.
One day she followed the sound of laughter to the orphanage. The children’s curiosity quickly turned to delight as she played with them, bending in funny ways, making faces, and joining their games. Discovering she could bring joy through toys and play, Willow began returning whenever Jard was away, crafting small puppets and tricks from whatever scraps she could find. She still couldn’t make Jard smile, but Underhaven had plenty of others who needed a little light, and she was happy to provide it.
