Thameus van Blackharrow is a Human Oath of Castigation Paladin.
He is 20 years old and was born a farmer’s boy in a small village far from Underhaven.
For generations, an ancient vampire noble known as Veyrath had ruled the surrounding lands. He viewed mortals as a farmer views cattle. Villages existed to feed him, and every few decades one would succumb to his hunger.
Thameus was 16 when they came for his village. By dawn, nothing remained but ruins. Thameus was one of the few to have survived said onslaught, and after failing to protect his loved ones, he was forced to flee.
For nearly a year, he wandered before eventually arriving in Underhaven. During this time, one thought never left his mind: “No mercy for the wicked.” In Underhaven, Hazel Hammie took him in, giving him food and a place to stay when he had nowhere else to go.
In Underhaven, he also met Libby Merrystone, whose carefree attitude left him baffled at the start. Though Thameus has little patience for mischief without purpose, he respects cunning when it is used against the wicked. In his eyes, a trap, a disguise, or a sword are simply different tools serving the same goal. Libby often teases him for being overly serious, while Thameus frequently questions whether she has thought anything through at all.
Despite all that, during his years in Underhaven, Libby showed him how to make something of himself beyond simply swinging a weapon. Whether through negotiating better deals, spotting opportunities others missed, or introducing him to people around Underhaven, she helped him earn coin and build connections within the settlement.
