Everyone in Underhaven knows "Captain" Finn Fandango as the towns most enthusiastic (and self appointed) Privateer and walking daydream. He takes every odd job or errand as a "sacred quest" and spins even searching for someone's lost laundry into an epic seafaring adventure, singing shanties with way more heart than talent. Some locals can't help but smile when they see him coming, some playing along with his Privateer act because his pure unfiltered excitement is genuinely uplifting. He's generous with coin and is a man of his word, always paying back his debts. Rumor has it a mysterious beautiful stranger watches over him. Finn just assumes it's a part of his grand destiny as a future legend of the waves.

Growing up as an orphan in Underhaven, Finn spent every free moment he had devouring stories of seafaring heroes. Pirates, Privateers, and legends of the sea all became his entire world, reading books as he snacked of grubs in a pile of garbage and scrap. He couldn't help but find himself lost in the daydream of the freedom those at sea seemed to have, even if the stories he preferred were fictional. While the mist ensures he remains trapped in the only home he's ever known, Finn devoted his whole heart to the dream that one day he will sail the world.
Until that day comes, Finn has committed himself to the role of a dashing Privateer. Every adventure is a grand quest, and every shiny rock is "Treasure". He proclaims himself "The Great Captain/Privateer Finn Fandango" with an ever bright grin, regaling anyone who will listen (and plenty who won't) with wildly embellished tales of his accomplishments, singing shanties off key or blabbering on as if the stories he's read were his own adventures. His optimism is relentless, his enthusiasm contagious, even when the reality of being trapped underground gently bumps into his fantasies. Until recently he believed that his dreams were impossible, but ever since a strange, beautiful protector the gods seem to have sent him arrived he can't help but feel inspired enough to chase these dreams headfirst. He believes that with Ciel Lodestars help, he can one day gather enough "loot" to gain a ship of his own to sail the outside sea. Even if his fear of death gives him pause when he imagines sailing into the mist.
