Appearance:
Short kenku, about 5 feet. Black feathers, black eyes. Wears a hooded coat with belts and pouches. Has a satchel full of notes and random items. He carries a collection of keys on him, hanging from his belt or tucked into pockets. Old keys, broken keys, keys that don’t seem to go to anything. They make a faint metal sound when he moves.
Public Character Knowledge:
Local detective for hire, good at finding missing things and uncovering secrets, talks a bit strangely sometimes, not very friendly but reliable if you pay him.
Ruru works as a detective. Not officially tied to anything big, just takes jobs where he can get them. Missing persons, stolen items, weird situations people don’t want guards involved in. He’s really good at noticing small details and putting things together. If something feels off, he won’t drop it. That’s kind of the problem too, he gets stuck on things.
He inherited something (he won't speak of what) that pulled him into bigger and more dangerous secrets. He doesn’t fully understand it yet, but it’s important and he’s trying to figure it out. At some point, he made a mistake that got his mentor killed. Since then, he’s been a lot more careful. He double checks things constantly, doesn’t trust easily, and hates being wrong.
He collects keys. Some he finds on jobs; some he just picks up because they seem interesting. He doesn’t always know what they open, but he keeps them anyway. To him, every key is a possibility. He’s quiet, observant, and pretty guarded. Not great socially, but he does care about people even if he doesn’t show it well. Long term, he wants to start his own detective agency instead of just taking random jobs.
